Meet Missy Onehand

Hi, my name is Missy. I was rescued from the nakid doll bin at Goodwill yesterday. I was taken to a great home and given handmade knits. (see my sweater)

I was photographed next to a new handmade knitting bag. See the beautiful sun?
Then there was a mishap. I was brutally attack and now I have a handicap.....

Chloe chewed my hand off!
But I am still loved and well cared for, today I got a Valentine's day tote bag. Hopefully it will be full of Valentines!

p.s. Damn! I only had her for 5 hours before "the incident."

Because I'm proud - the inside of the We Call Them Pirates hat.

Tiny little sock for Molly's tiny little feet. size 2mm needles folks, that's smaller than a US 1.

My progress on the Irish Hiking Scarf. Almost done with 1 cake of yarn

Detail of the pattern and the SIL handspun. Oooo purdy.

And I'm trying to talk the mom and SIL into going to Madrona on Sat, the Harlot will be signing books from 5-6! Yippee!!!!

MoMo

ETA: this is yesterday's post that blogger refused to post.

We have a new baby in the family, the extended family. Little Molly was born yesterday. 10 fingers, 10 toes, 2 happy parents. This makes 3 wee ones for me to knit for. (all in the same family) Flowers were sent and booties are on the needles.

I had feedback at work today, and it was all good. Yippee! Still liking the working thing.

And no worries for the Pirate hat, I have received a request for it. It shall be worn and loved.

As for the boy's hat - it is this one. Originally seen in Knit.1 Fall/Winter 2005, but now free on Vickie Howell's blog. Dontcha just love free?

Look what was delivered today,

I don't want to tell you what I paid for this hat, I don't even want to think about what I paid to have it shipped next day. GO BEARS!

actual knitting content

For those of you who are tired of football and/or the Chicago Bears *gasp* I bring you knitting. Yes I knit on this last week. I finished the pirate hat. I swear the 2.25" of lining took just as long to knit as the rest of the hat! But I digress. I like the hat, I think I did well on the hat, the hat looks good, the hat is.too.small.
Hmm - swatch? for a hat?? Opps. So this is a child's version of the pirate hat. Only thing, I don't know a mother who wants their little angel sporting skulls and crossbones on their wee heads. It's a wonder.
I will use what I learned and move on.....to another hat :-)

The boy has deemed me worthy of knitting him a hat.....I've got chills.

The Superbowl Shuffle

The year was 1986, I had just picked up my first new car the day before and I was at Uncle Joe's house for a Superbowl party. I remember it like yesterday.

Today, the Bear's alter was ready, we were all in our Bearswear, drinking out of our Bears glasses. Screaming and yelling all the way. Bears Win!

Time to celebrate like we were in Chicago again. Whities (White Castle Hamburgers) and Champagne - in a Bears glass of course.

Me and my family are crazy Bear fans. (in Aug of 1990 I brought my son home from the hospital in a Bears sweatpant outfit....it was 85 degrees)
We are partying here like it is 1985!

BEARS WIN! Bears win!

There was no knitting. Screaming, yelling, jumping, and even praying towards the end. But no knitting during that game. See you next week at Soldier's Field.

I've got skulls

My first attempt at 2-color knitting. I think I am doing well. My floats look good and I like the graphics. I uh noticed I reversed the colors....not on purpose, but I still like it. This was chosen as a Christmas gift for a friend of The Boy's. But then that friend fell out of favor (as does happen at 16 years old) and the new fav friend won't wear a hat, (it messes with the hair) so this is now a Dulaan hat.

I other news I took another giant leap into the 21st century and started a Netflix account. We started it Sun, and we rec'd our first shipment today. Yeah, movie night. Especially with the next big storm hitting us around midnight, (rain, wind & snow)I am all set for a snow day.

I whipped up this little cutie after the Seahawks won on Sat. Then the Giants go and lose and the Seahawks play the Bears this Sun. (9 am my time!)
NOW WHAT!?!
