swap
I was surfing around looking for a new swap and I found Swap-bot. How cool. A place to search for swaps. Check it out, wait check out the one I joined, Winter Scarf Knit Kit Swap
I started the IHS last night with SIL's handspun.......heaven.
This yarn is sooo soft and squooshy. It looks kinda brownish, but then maybe a little purple, and it has flecks of other colors - very pretty. The Options needles? Love them.

celebrity knitting reference
Lindsay Lohan:
Learn how to knit
"Ah, Lindsay. No one else can entertain us the way you do. The drinking! The catfights! The car accidents! Good times. But we'd hate to see you burn out, so how about a new hobby, like knitting? It's hip, it's fun, and you can make scarves during your many hospital stays. At least until you turn 21. After that, all bets are off."

I have options
Knitpicks options that is!
Wow I must have been a very good girl this year. In my stocking and under my tree I received the Options starter set, tiny tiny dpn's to make the doll sweaters, a Knitty calendar, a mag and handspun yarn.
I hope your Christmas was as bright as mine.

8 Dead, Thousands Still Without Power Following Storm
These past few days have been interesting. You may have seen something on the news, or may not, but the PNW suffered a terrible wind storm late Thursday evening that caused most of Western WA to be without power - some still in the dark. It was a harrowing adventure to get home with accidents, debris and trees in the road. I was very happy to get to my home even knowing we were out of power. After a long dark and cold night we moved to the bro's ranch (where he has always said "if anything happens, just get to the ranch") Well I got to the ranch and all was better. All family members safe and warm. He had 2 generators running 3 freezers, 2 fridges, 2 computers, 1 large screen TV and a partridge in a pear tree. But seriously my home was without power for 55 hours and I would have been lost without my brother. We were warm, clean, well fed and had great fun playing board games and watching movies. I even knit a bit. (but I left my knit bag there.. :-( but I always have more than one project going at a time)
Thank goodness for family!

I've lost my mind....
You've seen me knit Best Friends dolls, Knitted Babes, sweaters for Barbie.
Well while surfing the net for more Barbie sweater patterns I came accross this freebie. Which by the way is way cool. I checked out the other doll in the picture. Hmm, I also checked out the other patterns on this website and noticed that the clothes somehow looked better on the other doll. So I went here to learn more and they sent me here and well I um - sort of - invested in a doll. Now you can probably figure out by my wording that my doll, Citrine Dream, is FREAKING EXPENSIVE. But, she is a Christmas gift to myself. And no one need know just how much of an investment she is.
She is a beauty.
Now to start knitting that "free" pattern. :- )

I couldn't wait!
I told you that I was knitting - but it was a secret......I couldn't keep it.
This is a Christmas knit for my mom. Each year she gets a new Best Friends doll. She is wearing a handknit Barbie-sized sweater and I made her jeans and boots using the patterns from The Knitted Babes book.
Today I sewed her a Christmas sock bag.
It was a very busy weekend. I am done Christmas shopping, and wrapping. I have 2 deliveries I am waiting for - but that is all. Oh and the Bears clinched their division today! Woo Hoo.
