sewing

While I did manage to knit a few stitches, this weekend was mostly about the sewing. Not big project look what I made sewing - but fixing, mending, hemming sewing. Still, I had FOs when I was done.

After much coveting of other's Monkey socks while lurking on the swapsite I started my own pair. Picot edge and all, hey even the Harlot got in on the action. Who am I to resist.

KIPing at the dentist

There is no pic of me actually knitting in public, the boy was not keen on me knitting - he was even not-keener on taking my pic.

I enjoyed the knitting wayyyyy more than the dentist today. The boy has 2 cavities and I need deep cleaning.....ouch.

This is Big Pink, still pink and getting bigger. I tried it on last night and so far so good. working the waist shaping now.

Greta is sooo ashamed. She had to take her Bears sweater off and put on the Seahawks one. I told her if the Bears lose again, she will be wearing a Packers sweater!

Over at Knitted Babes there is a call out for babes knit for "Knitted Babes For A Cause" go check out the post. OK back now. My effort is on the left, mom's on the right. Semi nekkid babes just waiting for some more clothes before going on a very important job.

Big Pink is back

And it looks just like this + 4 rows. With the weather turning to 50 and rainy (for oh the next 4 months or so) I had to face up to the fact that Glee will be for spring/summer 2008. So out comes Big Pink. Now if you remember this is a melding of a V-neck tunic pattern from Knitting Pure and Simple and the waist shaping of Green Gable. I had put it on waste yarn sometime during it's hiatus because I thought I needed the needles for another project - which I didn't and did not put it back on. Why is this a problem you ask? Well did I write the needle size down anywhwere? Could I remember what size I was using? No, and No. So I had to swatch - - - again. Ugh. 2 swatches for 1 project. Double Ugh. But I am back in the saddle again. Oh did I mention I couldn't really decide which swatch was right and promptly put the wrong size onto the project and knit 5 rows, and had to rip back and use choice #2. Funsville. Any-who, now it is just around and around and around for 4 inches. I shouldn't get into too much trouble.......
